How to Install an IPTV Player on Firestick

Fire TV doesn't carry third-party players in its app store, so you install one yourself. It takes about five minutes, needs no computer, and nothing here voids your warranty — sideloading is a supported Fire OS feature.

This guide covers installing TvPro Player on a Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube, or a Fire TV built into a television. The steps are identical on all of them.

A quick note on what this app is, because it matters before you start: TvPro Player is a player, not a service. It ships with no channels and no content. You bring your own M3U playlist, Xtream Codes login, Stalker portal, or your own Jellyfin, Emby, or Plex server, and the app loads and organises it. If you don't already have a source, this app won't give you one.

Before you start

Install TvPro Player

01

Install the Downloader app

From the Fire TV home screen, open Find → Search and type Downloader. Select the orange icon by AFTVnews and install it. This is a free, official Amazon Appstore app — it's the tool Fire TV uses for installing apps from a web address.

02

Allow Downloader to install apps

Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options, open Install Unknown Apps, and switch Downloader to ON.

If you don't see Developer Options, it's hidden. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → About, highlight your device name, and press the select button seven times. A message confirms developer options are unlocked, and the menu appears.

03

Enter the Downloader code

Open Downloader, select the URL box, and enter this number. Nothing else — no dots, no letters.

Downloader code
1157763

Select Go. The download starts on its own and takes a few seconds on most connections.

Prefer to type the address? tvproplayer.com/firetv works the same way.

04

Install, then clear the file

When the download finishes, an install screen appears. Select Install, wait for it to complete, then choose Done — not Open, so you can finish tidying up first.

Downloader offers to delete the installer file. Select Delete, then confirm with Delete again. The app is already installed; removing the file just frees up storage, which matters on a Fire TV Stick.

05

Open TvPro Player and add your source

Find TvPro Player under Your Apps & Channels on the home screen. To keep it handy, highlight it, press the menu button on your remote, and choose Move to Front.

On first launch, pick how you want to connect: paste an M3U playlist URL, enter your Xtream Codes host and login, add a Stalker portal, or point the app at your own Jellyfin, Emby, or Plex server. Channels are sorted into groups automatically once the playlist loads.

Playlist loading slowly? Very large playlists — tens of thousands of entries — take longer on the first load while the app builds its index. Subsequent launches are fast.

Trial and payment on Fire TV

Every Fire TV install includes a seven-day free trial with no card required up front. When the trial ends, a QR code appears on the TV screen. Scan it with your phone to pay through Stripe, and the TV unlocks within seconds. You can also pay from any browser at tvproplayer.com/account.

TV pricing is $19.99 per year or $44.99 once for lifetime, covering up to five TV devices on the same email address. Need more than five? Extra device slots are $4.99 each and can be added at any time from your account. Mobile subscriptions are billed separately through the App Store or Google Play and don't carry over to TV devices.

Troubleshooting

"App not installed"

Almost always storage. Fire TV Sticks fill up quickly. Go to Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications, clear the cache on a few large apps or uninstall something unused, then try again.

Downloader says the code or URL is invalid

Retype it carefully — the Fire TV keyboard drops characters, and a stray space is enough to break it. The code is seven digits, 1157763, with nothing before or after. If you're typing the address instead, leave off http:// and www. If entering text on the remote is painful, install the free Fire TV app on your phone and use its keyboard.

The install screen never appears

The Install Unknown Apps permission didn't take. Return to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Install Unknown Apps and confirm Downloader is switched ON, then start the download again.

Channels load but won't play

That's the source, not the app. Test the same playlist on another device or in VLC. If it fails there too, the credentials or the provider are the issue. Also check whether your plan allows more than one simultaneous connection.

Common questions

Is sideloading on Fire TV allowed?

Yes. Installing apps from outside the Amazon Appstore is a built-in Fire OS feature, which is why the setting exists in the menus. It doesn't affect your warranty or your Amazon account.

Does TvPro Player include channels?

No. It's a player with no content of its own. You supply the playlist or media server, and the app handles playback and organisation.

Do I need a computer for any of this?

No. Everything happens on the Fire TV itself using Downloader.

Will my playlist sync to my other TVs?

Yes. Playlists, favorites, custom groups, and Continue Watching sync across up to five TV devices signed in with the same email — and you can add extra device slots for $4.99 each if you have more TVs than that.

Does this work on Android TV and Nvidia Shield?

Yes — the same APK installs on Android TV devices including Nvidia Shield, Xiaomi Mi Box, and Sony and Philips Android TVs. Those devices have the Play Store, but sideloading through Downloader works the same way — there's a dedicated Shield guide here.
